Night Rites - NINE OF SWORDS - Release Party with The Dainty Morsels and Druid Fluids
About This Event
Emerging from the kaleidoscopic corners of Australia’s underground psych rock scene, Night Rites bring to you ‘Nine Of Swords’ a wax slab so deeply fried it might've been pressed under a peyote sun somewhere in the trashcan end of the Mojave. Fueled by a dark mysticism and cosmic fuzz, ‘Nine of Swords’ is a sprawling sonic tarot reading — equal parts introspective journey and electric ritual. Drawing on influences ranging from The Velvet Underground to The Dead Skeletons, Night Rites channel a sound that is both thunderously hypnotic and emotionally raw. ‘Nine Of Swords’ is not a sore - It’s some deeper cut — the one you get by falling into a dream carved by Spacemen 3. Nine tracks of echo-blown pagan fuzz, reverse-flood rhythms, and vocals that sound like they were recorded inside a haunted kiln. One minute you’re floating in some astral states (“Inter(QUAA)lude”), the next you’re knee-deep in skronk-bog sludge chanting along to “Black Diamond” like a fried cultist at a Dead Moon séance. Nine of Swords pulses with a cinematic intensity, looping riffs, droning organs, and reverb-drenched mantras that explore the liminal space between dream and disillusionment. Somehow they have been able to bottlet that prickly, glass-chewing live throb that left basement kids blinking Morse code through the feedback haze back in ‘23. The fire is lit. The night is long. Get ‘Nine Of Swords’ before the dream evaporates. Vinyl, Tshirts, Tote bags and more will be available for sale on the night. Joining the band will be The Dainty Morsels and Druid Fluids. Expect projectors, fuzz, reverb, drone.... and good times.
