Swan Lake
About This Event
Cape Ballet's company of 60 dances Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake at Her Majesty's Theatre — the world's best-loved ballet, for four days only from 15 to 18 April.
There is no ballet more famous than Swan Lake. Set to Tchaikovsky's score, it tells of Princess Odette, cursed by a sorcerer to live as a swan, and Prince Siegfried, whose love is the only thing that can break the spell — a story of romance, deception and devotion that has held audiences for generations.
Cape Ballet bring the full production to Adelaide with a company of 60 dancers, set against grand sets and lavish costumes. It is classical ballet on a traditional scale: the famous corps de ballet of swans, the dazzling Black Swan, and the music that has come to define the art form.
