Natalie Gamsu returns to the Adelaide Cabaret Festival with A Voice Like Shrapnel — a searing new work of storytelling and song forged from her upbringing in Apartheid-era South Africa and inspired by a past-life memory as a flamenco dancer.

Over two intimate nights in the Space Theatre, Gamsu sings tales of tsuris (Yiddish for pain) with the dark humour, theatrical bravura and earthquake of a voice that have made her one of Australia's most singular cabaret artists. Expect flamenco rhythms rubbing up against Yiddish lament, stories that cut close to the bone, and a performer who never looks away.
