A two-hander told across three eras, Whitefella Yella Tree follows two First Nations boys from rival tribes who meet under a yellow-flowering tree and slowly fall in love against the looming arrival and aftermath of colonisation. A Griffin Theatre Company commission, the play won the 2023 Patrick White Playwrights' Award and has been called one of the most important new Australian plays of the decade.
